Mr Aderigbigbe John Olalere is a seasoned Economist with over 30 years of experience working with the Central Bank of Nigeria. He holds a master’s degree in Economics from New York University and a bachelor’s degree from the prestigious University of Ibadan.

A member of the Nigeria Economic Society and Nigerian Institute if Bankers, he has written quite a number of research papers & articles including: Austerity Measures and the Impact on the Nigerian Economy (published in African Development Journal, Vol. X, No. 1&2, 1985), Offshore Banking – paper delivered at the Nigerian Institute of Bankers, Annual Seminar (1988), Interest rate Policy in Development Countries – paper delivered at a seminar by The Nigerian Institute of Bankers, Lagos Chapter.

Starting off as a research assistant for the Central Bank of Nigeria in 1970, he quickly rose through the ranks holding the following positions – Research Assistant on Money and Capital Market Development Statistical, Principal Economist, Deputy Director and finally retiring as the Special Advisor to the Central Bank Governor on Economic Matters.

SPECIAL ASSIGNMENTS INCLUDE:

  • Member Inter-ministerial Committee on the Establishment of Discount Houses in Nigeria.
  • Non-Executive Commissioner -Securities and Exchange Commission, 2000 -2004
  • Non-Executive Director – Enterprise Bank Limited, 2011 -2014
